Earn while you study
If you are a back to school single mom and you know what course you prefer and which school you would enroll in, the next practical question is, "Where should I get college money for single moms like me?"

The best way to get extra cash in school is through coaching fellow students in subjects that you are already good at. You only have to invest a few minutes or hours per day with a person or a group of people.
Inquire at one of the departments in your school on peer tutorial. The pay ought to be good and sessions are usually comfortably situated within the campus.
Professors are usually required by their university to do researches. More often than not, they would need help in gathering data such as surveys.
Promising projects can help obtain a secure amount, and through this, assistants could be given access to an alternative venue for earning money.
There are also schools that permit student to work with their teachers in checking papers and doing basic classroom tasks in exchange for a decent allowance.
Textbooks are generally expensive. One good way of earning money is by selling used books at the discounted price via e-bay or the like.
If you are a person with special skills and abilities, then you should consider applying for a scholarship. It's not just students who excel in academics that are given grants. Schools also render support to athletes, artists, musicians, writers, journalists, and committed people who are willing to work at a minimum wage.
Universities have programs for students who meet certain requirements. They offer financial aids to students in starting a degree and finishing college.

I'm a single mother and student. I have to say that it does have its advantages and disadvantages. However, I have to say that the advantages are outweighs the negative. My daugther is seven years old. I went back to school to be a medical assistant. At the time of my graduation there were no jobs. I was upset but I knew that I had to go back to further my education. I'm currently finishing my degree in liberal arts and I plan to transfer to a four year college as well. I'm completely behind higher education
Hi, I'm a mother of a 19-month old. I want to go back to school but I don't know how I can do it if I had to work full time and have my daughter in daycare and of course pay for bills. I also have some outstanding loans so I don't want to get more. How can I go back to school for a major in the medical field and still support my daughter & myself? I live in CA and my family all live back east and moving back is not an option. I feel completely stuck in my job and I want a change badly. College is the only way I see out but I don't know how I can do it all. Any help, advice or anything is much appreciated. Thanks.
